French Teacher Who Showed Caricature of Mohammed Beheaded by Extremist

A French teacher was murdered on October 16, 2020 in a Paris suburb after showing a caricature of the Prophet Mohammed in class. The teacher, Samuel Paty, 47, was attacked and beheaded by an 18-year old man, later identified as Abdullakh Anzorov, who was later shot dead by police. France’s anti-terror prosecutor, Jean-François Ricard, said Paty was “assassinated for teaching.” He also pointed out that this shows the high level of terrorist threat France faces.
