Gantz Says Ready to Take Role of PM as Israeli Polls are Tied Likud/Gantz

Benny Gantz, leader of the Blue & White party, says he is ready to take over the reins as Israel’s next prime minister. Discussing the campaign against Hezbollah and Iran along Israel’s northern border, Gantz said, “Israel has been running a campaign against the transfer of sophisticated arms from Iran via Syria into Lebanon. Those systems might one day be used against us, so we should do whatever in our capacity to intercept those systems.” Gantz does not take issue with the campaign itself, but with Netanyahu’s forthrightness about it.
