Israeli Soldier Killed In West Bank

A thrown stone struck and killed an Israeli soldier on May 12 in the northern West Bank. Sgt. First Class Amit Ben-Ygal, a member of the Golani Reconnaissance Battalion, was killed while the battalion was making arrests in the village of Yabed, west of Jenin. The soldier was struck while the patrol was making its way through the village after making the arrests. A group of twelve Palestinian youths began throwing stones. “The rock hit the soldier directly in the head. The soldier was wearing a helmet.
