Libyan Oil Production Exports Slow to Trickle

Due to the actions of Gen Khalifa Haftar, Libya’s oil production and exports have virtually ground to a halt. Haftar controls Libya’s east and has laid siege to the capital Tripoli. Haftar has been trying to overthrow Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA), which is backed and recognized by the UN. He has shut down Libyan oilfields to increase pressure on the GNA. And, according to the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC), forces directly under Haftar’s control have blocked oil exports from the ports of Brega, Ras Lanuf, Hariga, Zueitina, and Sidra, further exacerbating the crisis.
