Macron Urges Talks, Iran Says US Must Make First Move

France’s president, Emmanuel Macron, told the U.N. that considering the attacks on Saudi Arabia, the U.S. and other countries should resume negotiations with Iran. “I am not naive at all and I don’t believe in miracles,” Macron said. “I believe it takes courage to build peace and that is why it is important for the United States, Iran and the signatories of the agreement to show this courage.” Macron said that the U.S.’s strategy of economic pressure had produced an Iranian response of “maximum pressure” against Tehran’s neighbors.
