Two Senior Al-Qaeda Commanders Killed By “Ginsu-Bomb”

Two senior al-Qaeda commanders in northwestern Syria were killed by a U.S.-led strike. What is unusual about the strike is that the pair were not killed by explosives, but by a missile packed with knives. The two leaders, Qassam ul-Urdini and Yemeni Bilal al-Sanaani, were killed by a variation of the Hellfire anti-tank missile nicknamed the “Flying Ginsu” or “ninja bomb.” The missile has six blades “that are stowed inside and then deploy through the skin of the missile seconds before impact to ensure that it shreds anything in its tracks” by flying directly into designated targets.
